Use the phone’s built-in location service
Android: open Find My Device
iPhone: open Find My on another Apple device or at iCloud.com/find
Sign in with the same account used on the phone
Select the device from the list
View the phone’s current or last known location on the map
Turn on location services on the phone
Turn on Find My Device or Find My iPhone before the phone is lost
Make sure the phone is connected to the internet
Use Google Maps Timeline if location history is enabled
Use family tracking apps if they were installed earlier
Contact the mobile carrier for device tracking options
Report the phone as lost through the tracking service
Lock the phone remotely if needed
Contact local authorities if the phone is stolen
