Craft or obtain a beacon
Place the beacon on top of a pyramid made of iron blocks, gold blocks, diamond blocks, emerald blocks, or netherite blocks
Build the pyramid with at least 9 blocks total for the first layer
Make sure the beacon has a clear view of the sky
Open the beacon interface
Insert one of these items: iron ingot, gold ingot, emerald, diamond, or netherite ingot
Choose a primary power
If the pyramid is large enough, choose a secondary power
Confirm the selection
Keep the beacon powered by maintaining the pyramid structure and sky access
