Gather materials: lightweight wood dowels or bamboo sticks, kite paper or plastic, string, glue or tape, scissors, ruler, and a tail material
Cut four sticks for the frame: two long sticks and two shorter sticks
Make two cross frames: one for the top and one for the bottom
Join each pair of sticks into a square or rectangular frame
Connect the top and bottom frames with four vertical corner sticks
Secure all joints tightly with glue, tape, or string
Cover each side of the box frame with kite paper or plastic
Cut the covering to fit each face of the box
Attach the covering neatly to the frame with glue or tape
Punch or tie a small hole at the front bridle point
Tie the flying line to the bridle point
Add a tail to the back of the kite for stability
Test the kite in a light breeze
Adjust the bridle or tail if needed for better balance
