Add cardboard or landscape fabric if needed for weed control
Fill the bed with quality topsoil and compost
Mix the soil and compost thoroughly
Level the surface with a rake
Water the bed lightly to settle the soil
Plant flowers, vegetables, or shrubs as desired
Add mulch around the plants
Water regularly and maintain the bed as needed
