Choose good-quality hot dogs and buns
Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium heat
Add a small amount of water or a little oil to the pan
Place the hot dogs in the pan
Cook, turning occasionally, until heated through and lightly browned
If using water, let it evaporate and continue cooking for a slight crisp
Warm the buns in the pan for a few seconds if desired
Place the hot dog in the bun
Add condiments and toppings as desired
