Start with a square sheet of paper
Fold the paper in half horizontally
Unfold it
Fold the top and bottom edges to the center crease
Fold the paper in half along the center crease
Fold one corner of the strip down at a right angle
Fold the opposite corner up at a right angle
Repeat with a second square sheet of paper in the opposite orientation
Slide the two folded pieces together to form a star shape
Tuck the ends into each other to lock the shape
Flatten and adjust the points evenly
