Start with a rectangular sheet of paper
Fold the paper in half lengthwise
Fold it in half again, then unfold to show the center crease
Fold the top corners down to the center crease
Fold the bottom strip on one side up over the triangle
Flip the paper over
Fold the remaining bottom strip up over the triangle
Open the bottom of the folded shape
Flatten it into a diamond shape
Fold the bottom corners of the diamond up to the top point
Flip the paper over again
Fold the bottom corners up to the top point
Open the bottom and flatten it into a hat shape
Pull the two layers apart gently
Shape the hat to fit your head
