Measure the desired box dimensions
Choose suitable wood boards
Cut the wood pieces for the sides, bottom, and lid
Sand all cut edges and surfaces
Mark the joinery locations
Cut joints or prepare edge connections
Dry-fit the pieces to check alignment
Apply wood glue to the joints
Clamp the box together
Attach the bottom panel
Let the glue dry completely
Sand the assembled box
Add the lid or hinges if needed
Fill nail holes or gaps with wood filler
Apply stain, paint, or finish
Let the finish cure before use
