Combine 1 cup apple cider vinegar, 1/2 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup water, 2 tablespoons molasses, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1 teaspoon mustard powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger, 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves, 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper in a saucepan
Add 2 chopped anchovy fillets or 1 teaspoon anchovy paste
Bring to a gentle simmer over low heat
Stir until the sugar and molasses dissolve
Simmer for 5 to 10 minutes
Remove from heat and let cool
Strain if a smoother sauce is desired
Transfer to a clean jar or bottle
Refrigerate before using
Shake well before each use
