Rinse 2 cups fresh cranberries and remove any soft or damaged ones
Combine 1 cup water and 1 cup granulated sugar in a saucepan
Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves
Remove from heat and let the syrup cool for 5 to 10 minutes
Add the cranberries to the syrup and stir to coat
Let the cranberries soak in the syrup for 10 to 15 minutes
Use a slotted spoon to transfer the cranberries to a wire rack
Let them dry for 1 to 2 hours until tacky
Toss the tacky cranberries in 1 cup granulated sugar until fully coated
Spread the candied cranberries on parchment paper
Let them dry completely before serving or storing
