Do not try to make a cat throw up without veterinary guidance
If the cat may have swallowed something toxic, call a veterinarian or poison control immediately
If the cat swallowed a sharp object, battery, string, medication, or chemical, do not induce vomiting
If a veterinarian instructs you to induce vomiting, follow their exact directions
Do not use salt, hydrogen peroxide, syrup of ipecac, or other home remedies unless a veterinarian specifically tells you to
Keep the cat calm and prevent further access to the suspected substance
Bring the product packaging, ingredient list, or a sample of the ingested item to the veterinarian if possible
Seek emergency veterinary care right away if the cat is drooling, vomiting repeatedly, having trouble breathing, collapsing, or having seizures
