Choose a warm, sunny location with well-drained soil
Obtain a fresh coconut with the husk intact
Soak the coconut in water for 2 to 3 days
Place the coconut horizontally or partially buried in moist soil
Keep the soil consistently moist, not waterlogged
Maintain temperatures above 70°F
Wait for the sprout to emerge from one of the coconut’s eyes
Transplant the seedling to a larger space when it is established
Water regularly during the early growth stage
Apply balanced fertilizer periodically
Protect the young tree from strong winds and frost
Allow plenty of space for the tree to mature
Prune only dead or damaged fronds when needed
