Start with yellow paint as the base
Add a small amount of brown paint to deepen the tone
Mix in a tiny amount of white paint if a lighter gold is needed
Add a small amount of orange paint for a warmer gold
Add a touch of red paint for a richer antique gold
Add a very small amount of metallic gold pigment or gold acrylic medium for a metallic effect
Adjust slowly with more yellow to brighten the mixture
Adjust slowly with more brown to mute the mixture
Mix thoroughly after each addition
Test the color on a scrap surface before final use
