1 cup heavy whipping cream, cold
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Chill a mixing bowl and beaters for 10 to 15 minutes
Pour the cold heavy whipping cream into the chilled bowl
Beat on medium-high speed until it starts to thicken
Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract
Continue beating until soft peaks form
Stop beating before it becomes grainy or overwhipped
Use immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve
