2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

3 tablespoons vegetable oil or lard

3/4 cup warm water

Mix flour, salt, and baking powder in a bowl

Add oil or lard and mix until crumbly

Add warm water gradually and stir until a dough forms

Knead dough for 2 to 3 minutes until smooth

Cover dough and let rest for 15 to 30 minutes

Divide dough into small equal balls

Roll each ball into a thin circle on a floured surface

Heat a dry skillet or griddle over medium-high heat

Cook each tortilla for 30 to 60 seconds on the first side

Flip and cook the second side for 30 to 60 seconds

Flip once more if needed until light brown spots appear

Stack cooked tortillas in a clean towel to keep warm

Serve immediately or store in an airtight container
