Gather wood boards, screws, wood glue, sandpaper, and finish
Measure and cut the base, support, and top reading surface
Sand all cut edges and surfaces smooth
Assemble the base for stability
Attach the vertical support to the base
Attach the angled top reading surface to the support
Reinforce joints with screws and wood glue
Add a lip or ledge to hold papers in place
Fill holes and sand again if needed
Apply paint, stain, or clear finish
Let the finish dry completely before use
