Start with a square sheet of paper
Fold it in half horizontally and crease well
Unfold the paper
Cut or tear along the crease to make two equal rectangles
Take one rectangle and fold it in half lengthwise
Fold each corner down to form two triangles
Fold the top left corner down and the bottom right corner up on one piece
Fold the top right corner down and the bottom left corner up on the other piece
Turn both pieces over
Fold the ends inward to make two matching zigzag shapes
Interlock the two pieces by sliding one into the other at right angles
Tuck the flaps into the pockets to lock the shape
Adjust the folds until the star lies flat and holds together
