Gather cardstock or thick paper, scissors, glue or tape, and a ruler
Fold the card base in half
Decide where the pop-up element will go inside the card
Cut two parallel slits in the folded edge of the inner card layer
Push the cut section inward to form a folded tab
Open and close the card to check the pop-up movement
Cut a shape or design to attach to the tab
Glue the shape onto the tab
Add decorations to the front and inside of the card
Let the glue dry completely before closing the card
