Wash and dry cucumbers
Slice cucumbers into spears, chips, or leave whole
Pack cucumbers into a clean jar or container
Add garlic, dill, peppercorns, mustard seeds, or other desired seasonings
Combine vinegar, water, salt, and optional sugar in a bowl or saucepan
Stir until salt and sugar dissolve
Pour brine over cucumbers until fully covered
Seal the container
Refrigerate for at least 24 hours
Wait 2 to 3 days for best flavor
Store in the refrigerator and keep cucumbers submerged in brine
