Gather materials: rubber sheet, carving tool, pencil, tracing paper, craft knife, cutting mat, wooden block or foam mount, strong glue, ink pad
Draw your stamp design on paper
Reverse the design if it includes text
Transfer the design onto the rubber sheet
Secure the rubber sheet on a cutting mat
Carve away the negative space around the design
Cut carefully around fine details
Test the stamp on scrap paper
Trim any rough edges if needed
Glue the finished rubber piece onto a wooden block or foam mount
Let the glue dry completely
Press the stamp onto an ink pad
Stamp onto paper with even pressure
