How to Make Sugar Skulls?

Gather sugar skull molds, granulated sugar, meringue powder, water, mixing bowl, spoon, and cardboard or tray

Mix sugar with meringue powder in a bowl

Add a small amount of water gradually

Stir until the mixture feels like damp sand and holds its shape when pressed

Pack the mixture firmly into the skull molds

Level the backs with a straight edge or spatula

Unmold the skulls onto a flat surface

Let the skulls dry completely for several hours or overnight

Prepare royal icing with powdered sugar, meringue powder, and water

Pipe royal icing onto the dried skulls for decoration
