Rinse 1 cup sweet rice until the water runs mostly clear
Soak the rice in water for 4 to 8 hours or overnight
Drain the rice well
Add the rice to the rice cooker
Add 1 to 1 1/4 cups water for every 1 cup sweet rice
Add a pinch of salt if desired
Close the lid and cook on the regular white rice setting
Let it sit on warm for 10 to 15 minutes after cooking
Fluff gently with a rice paddle or spoon
Serve plain or with your desired toppings or sides
