Mix the marinade ingredients in a bowl
Use oil, acid, salt, and seasonings for the marinade
Pour the marinade over the salmon
Turn the salmon to coat evenly
Cover and refrigerate
Marinate for 15 to 30 minutes for delicate marinades
Marinate for up to 1 hour for stronger marinades
Avoid marinating too long, especially with acidic ingredients
Remove the salmon from the marinade before cooking
Discard used marinade unless it has been boiled first
