Measure the height from the outer edge to the outer edge
Measure the depth if the frame has thickness
Measure the inside opening if needed
Measure diagonally corner to corner if checking for squareness
Use a tape measure or ruler
Record measurements in the same unit
Measure at least twice to confirm accuracy
