Open Minecraft
Make sure all players use the same edition and version
Connect all devices to the same Wi-Fi for local play
Start a world in single-player
Open the world to LAN if using local network play
Join the LAN world from the other device
Add each other as friends on the platform if needed
Use the Friends or Multiplayer tab to join an online world
Join a public server by entering its address
Create a private server if you want your own multiplayer world
Use Minecraft Realms for an easy private multiplayer option
Make sure multiplayer is enabled in account and privacy settings
Check that firewalls and parental controls allow multiplayer access
Restart Minecraft if the world or server does not appear
Verify the server address and port if joining a server
Invite players to your world or realm once it is set up
