Turn the dial clockwise at least 3 full turns to clear the lock
Stop at the first number of the combination
Turn the dial counterclockwise past the first number once, then stop at the second number
Turn the dial clockwise directly to the third number
Pull up on the shackle to open the lock
If the lock does not open, recheck the combination and repeat the steps carefully
