Locate the small seam around the key fob
Find the release button or latch on the side
Press the release button if your model has one
Insert a flathead screwdriver or coin into the seam
Gently twist to separate the two halves
Pry slowly around the edge if needed
Remove the mechanical key first if it blocks the opening
Open the battery compartment after the fob splits
Replace the battery if needed
Snap the two halves back together firmly
