Use a corkscrew
Remove the foil or capsule from the bottle top
Center the screw on the cork
Twist the corkscrew into the cork
Pull the cork out slowly and steadily
If using a waiter’s corkscrew, rest the lever on the bottle lip and lift the cork out
If using a winged corkscrew, press the arms down to extract the cork
If the cork breaks, insert the screw again into the remaining piece and pull gently
If needed, use a two-prong cork puller for fragile corks
