Collect ripe apples and remove the seeds
Rinse the seeds to remove any pulp
Dry the seeds for a day or two
Place the seeds in a damp paper towel
Put the paper towel in a sealed plastic bag
Store the bag in the refrigerator for 6 to 8 weeks
Check occasionally to keep the towel slightly moist
Remove seeds after they sprout
Fill small pots with well-draining potting soil
Plant each seed about 1/2 inch deep
Water the soil lightly
Place the pots in a warm, sunny location
Keep the soil evenly moist
Transplant seedlings to larger pots when they grow
Move young trees outdoors after the last frost
Plant in full sun with well-draining soil
Water regularly during the first growing season
