Place the board on a flat, stable surface
Have two or more participants sit around the board
Put the planchette in the center of the board
Lightly place fingertips on the planchette
Ask a clear question aloud
Wait for the planchette to move
Follow the letters, numbers, or words it points to
Take turns asking questions
Keep questions simple and specific
End the session by saying goodbye and moving the planchette to the goodbye area
Remove hands from the planchette after ending the session
