Wash and dry your hands
Work over a soft surface like a towel
Identify the frame type
For plastic frames, gently warm the frame with lukewarm water
For metal frames, locate the tiny screw or retaining clip
Hold the frame firmly with both hands
Push the lens from the back side toward the front
Apply steady, even pressure
If needed, flex the frame slightly at the corner
Remove one edge of the lens first
Lift the rest of the lens out carefully
Use a microfiber cloth to avoid slipping
Stop if the frame feels like it may crack
Take the glasses to an optician if the lens will not come out easily
