Make sure there are no pending dues or contractual lock-ins with your current operator
Send an SMS with the text PORT followed by your 10-digit mobile number to 1900
Receive the UPC code and its validity period by SMS
Visit an Airtel store, Airtel retailer, or authorized point of sale
Carry a valid ID proof and address proof
Provide the UPC code and your existing mobile number
Fill out the Mobile Number Portability request form
Choose the Airtel prepaid or postpaid plan you want
Complete biometric verification if required
Submit the required documents and request
Wait for the SIM activation and porting process to complete
Insert the new Airtel SIM after your old SIM stops working
Restart your phone and wait for network activation
Use the Airtel SIM after successful porting is completed
