How To Properly Dice An Onion?

Cut off the stem end

Leave the root end intact

Peel off the outer skin

Cut the onion in half through the root

Place one half flat-side down

Make horizontal cuts toward the root, without cutting through it

Make vertical cuts from top to root, without cutting through it

Slice crosswise to create even dice

Repeat with the other half

Keep the root end attached until the final cuts for stability
