Turn off the Lenovo laptop
Unplug the charger and all connected devices
Close the lid
Place the laptop on a flat, stable surface
Align the item with the correct slot, port, or opening
Insert it gently and straight
Do not force it
Make sure it is fully seated or connected
Turn the laptop back on if needed
