Connect the iPod to your computer with a USB cable
Open iTunes on Windows or Finder on Mac
If needed, click the iPod icon when it appears
Turn on manual music management or sync music
Add songs to your iTunes or Music library
Drag songs, albums, or playlists to the iPod
Click Sync or Apply
Wait for the transfer to finish
Eject the iPod safely
Disconnect the iPod from the computer
