Park on a level surface and set the parking brake

Locate the transmission fluid dipstick or fill port
Check the owner’s manual for the correct transmission fluid type
Remove the dipstick or fill plug
Insert a funnel into the dipstick tube or fill opening
Add transmission fluid slowly in small amounts
Check the fluid level frequently
Do not overfill
Reinstall the dipstick or fill plug securely
Shift through the gears if needed, then recheck the level
Wipe up any spilled fluid
Verify there are no leaks
