Each line usually represents a drum or cymbal
Common abbreviations include:
HH = hi-hat
SD = snare drum
BD or B = bass drum
T1, T2, FT = toms
RC = ride cymbal
CR = crash cymbal
X usually means hit the cymbal or hi-hat
O usually means open hi-hat
Notes stacked vertically are played at the same time
Notes spaced apart are played in sequence
Repeated symbols show repeated hits
Dashes usually mean silence or no hit
Count the rhythm carefully to match timing
Follow any accents, rests, or special markings
Use the tab with a metronome for accuracy
