How To Read Guitar Tabs?

Read the tab from left to right

Each line represents a guitar string

Top line is the high E string

Second line is the B string

Third line is the G string

Fourth line is the D string

Fifth line is the A string

Bottom line is the low E string

Numbers show which fret to press

A 0 means play the open string

Play notes that are stacked vertically at the same time

Play notes that appear one after another in order

Higher numbers mean higher frets

Symbols may show techniques like bends, slides, hammer-ons, and pull-offs

Repeat signs and rhythm markings may appear above or below the tab

Check the spacing to understand timing

Use the tab together with listening for rhythm and feel
