Open QuickTime Player
Click File
Select New Screen Recording
Click the Record button
Choose to record the full screen or a selected portion
Click Record to start
Click the Stop button in the menu bar to finish
To record audio only, click File
Select New Audio Recording
Click the Record button
Choose the microphone input if needed
Click Stop to finish
To record screen with audio, use QuickTime Player with a microphone selected
Open Control Center or System Settings if you need to check microphone permissions
Save the recording when prompted
Use Screenshot toolbar by pressing Shift + Command + 5 for more screen recording options
Select Record Entire Screen or Record Selected Portion
Click Options to choose a microphone for audio
Click Record to begin
Click Stop in the menu bar to end the recording
Find the saved file on your desktop or chosen location
