Make a copy of the corrupted file before trying any repair
Open Excel and use File > Open
Select the corrupted file
Click the arrow next to Open
Choose Open and Repair
Select Repair
If Repair fails, choose Extract Data
Try opening the file in a different version of Excel
Open Excel in Safe Mode and try again
Disable add-ins and reopen the file
Use File > Open and select Recover Unsaved Workbooks
Restore a previous version from File History or backup
Check OneDrive, SharePoint, or cloud version history
Rename the file extension from .xlsx to .xls or vice versa and retry
Copy the file to a local drive and open it from there
Use a third-party Excel repair tool
Recover the file from a temporary or autosaved copy
Rebuild the workbook by copying sheets into a new workbook if it opens partially
