Check the Archived chats in Messenger
Search the conversation in Messenger
Download your Facebook information from Settings
Review the Messages folder in the downloaded data
Check the email inbox for message notifications or copies
Ask the other person to resend the conversation
Restore from a phone backup if you have one
Check linked devices where Messenger may still be logged in
Contact Facebook Support if the messages were removed due to an account issue
