Be a Virginia resident
Be at least 18 years old by Election Day
Not be currently declared mentally incompetent by a court
Not be convicted of a felony, or have your voting rights restored if you have been convicted
Register online through the Virginia Department of Elections website
Register by mail using the Virginia voter registration application
Register in person at your local registrar’s office, DMV, or other approved voter registration agency
Provide your name, address, date of birth, and identification information
Submit your registration before the deadline for the election
Check your registration status after submitting your application
