How to Remove a Snapped Bolt?

Apply penetrating oil to the broken bolt and let it soak

Clean the exposed area with a wire brush

Center punch the bolt for accurate drilling

Drill a small pilot hole straight into the bolt

Increase drill bit size gradually

Use a left-hand drill bit if possible

Insert a screw extractor into the drilled hole

Turn the extractor counterclockwise slowly

Apply steady heat to the surrounding metal if needed

Tap the bolt lightly to break corrosion

Weld a nut onto the broken bolt if enough remains exposed

Grip the welded nut and turn it out

Drill the bolt out completely if extraction fails

Re-tap the threads after removal

Replace the bolt with a new one
