How to Remove Gnats from Indoor Plants?

Let the top 1 to 2 inches of soil dry out between waterings

Remove standing water from saucers and trays

Replace the top layer of soil with fresh, dry potting mix

Repot the plant with sterile, well-draining soil if infestation is severe

Use yellow sticky traps near the plants to catch adult gnats

Water from the bottom when possible to keep the soil surface dry

Apply a thin layer of sand, diatomaceous earth, or fine gravel on the soil surface

Use BTI mosquito dunks or granules in watering water

Remove decaying leaves, dead plant matter, and organic debris from the soil

Quarantine infested plants away from healthy plants

Clean pots, trays, and nearby surfaces regularly

Avoid overwatering and improve drainage

Use a small fan to increase air movement around plants
