Freeze the gum with ice cubes or a freezer bag
Scrape off the hardened gum gently with a dull knife or spoon
Apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol or vinegar to loosen residue
Blot the area with a clean cloth
Wash the dress according to the care label
Repeat if any gum remains
Air dry and check that the stain is gone before using heat
