Blot the stain immediately with a clean cloth or paper towel
Do not rub the stain
Sprinkle salt on the stain to absorb the wine
Pour cold water over the area
Blot again with a clean cloth
Apply a small amount of liquid laundry detergent or dish soap
Let it sit for a few minutes
Rinse with cold water
Repeat if needed
For white fabrics, use a stain remover or oxygen bleach if safe for the material
Wash the item as soon as possible
Check that the stain is gone before drying
Avoid heat until the stain is fully removed
