Check that your Permanent Resident card is expiring within the next 9 months or has already expired
Make sure you still meet the residency obligation
Gather required documents
Complete the PR card renewal application form
Pay the application fee online
Print the payment receipt
Include two photos that meet PR card photo specifications
Include copies of your current or expired PR card
Include any supporting documents requested in the application guide
Sign and date the application form
Mail the complete application package to the address in the instruction guide
Keep a copy of everything you submit
Wait for confirmation or requests for additional information
Respond promptly if IRCC asks for more documents
Track your application status online if available
Pick up your new PR card if IRCC asks you to collect it in person
