Clean the torn area with a leather-safe cleaner
Trim any loose threads or frayed edges with sharp scissors
Apply leather adhesive to the underside of the tear
Press the torn edges together and hold until set
Insert a leather backing patch under the tear if needed
Fill small gaps with leather repair compound
Smooth the repair compound with a spatula or applicator
Let the filler dry completely
Sand lightly with fine-grit sandpaper if necessary
Apply matching leather dye or color compound
Blend the color into the surrounding seat surface
Seal the repair with a leather finish or topcoat
Allow the seat to cure before use
Use a leather conditioner after the repair has cured
