Locate the water filter compartment in your LG refrigerator
Open the filter cover or access panel
Turn the old filter counterclockwise or press the release button, depending on the model
Pull the old filter straight out
Remove the protective cap from the new filter, if present
Align the new filter with the slot
Insert the new filter fully into place
Turn the filter clockwise or lock it in, depending on the model
Close the filter cover or access panel
Run several gallons of water through the dispenser
Check for leaks
Reset the filter indicator light, if your model has one
