Stop taking levofloxacin and contact the prescribing clinician immediately
Seek emergency care for trouble breathing, swelling, severe rash, or fainting
Seek urgent care for tendon pain, swelling, or a popping sensation
Rest the affected tendon and avoid exercise until evaluated
Report numbness, tingling, burning, weakness, or severe pain promptly
Report confusion, agitation, hallucinations, severe anxiety, or mood changes promptly
Report palpitations, chest pain, or severe dizziness promptly
Drink fluids unless a clinician has told you to restrict them
Avoid alcohol until symptoms resolve
Avoid strenuous activity while side effects are present
Avoid taking antacids, iron, zinc, calcium, or magnesium too close to the dose if still using it
Review all medicines and supplements with a clinician or pharmacist
Get liver, kidney, blood sugar, or ECG testing if advised
Use acetaminophen only if approved for pain or fever
Use a clinician-recommended alternative antibiotic if treatment is still needed
Monitor for worsening symptoms for several days after the last dose
Seek immediate help for severe diarrhea, bloody diarrhea, or signs of dehydration
Seek immediate help for severe skin reactions or blistering
Follow up with a clinician if symptoms do not improve after stopping the drug
